how will i post?
i've always had an itch to talk about the albums that i listen to, even just individual songs, but no place to put it. now i do! but with such a backlog of music that have come and gone in my life, how will i decide which ones to post?
i'm thinking of taking this one step at a time, whatever comes to my mind, whatever i can remember from years ago on how i felt about certain albums. this means that there's most likely going to be a jumbled mix of past and present music that i'll be posting about. some that i used to listen to daily but have fallen out of my usual playlists, some that i just discovered that month.
that being said, the first few albums i post about are probably going to be a handful of years old just to feel nostalgic about it.
i've also always wanted to do a year-end roundup of music. almost like a spotify wrapped but i rank my faves. should be fun
what will i post?
what actually urges me to have an opinion on music? i don't feel like blogging about any song that just randomly pops into my discovery. it's gotta make me feel things.
basically, if:
it speaks to my heart
it's more than just a sentence or two long
i have something of substance to say about it,
i will most likely post about it here.
that, and the occasional paragraph of (not music related) thoughts that only a blogging platform could ever tolerate.
it's also worth noting that i do not hate-listen to anything.
when will i wear a wig- i mean, post?
whenever i feel like it. i listen to a lot of music, but they come in phases. i don't willingly try to look for new music unless i notice my rotation getting stale.
most of my discovery comes from:
friends' recommendations
spotify discover weekly/radio
youtube recommended
happenstance (random video, in passing, etc.)
sometimes i'm too busy listening to a few albums on repeat this month to try and search for new music. not like i'm ever obligated to, anyway.
closing thoughts
it's pretty nice having a space like leaflet to do something like this with. i've been looking for something like this for a long while. neocities makes me want to make it look too cool, other blogging sites didn't look cool enough, and i am fed up with tumblr's userbase (not my mutuals tho, ily).
there's also something to be said about having fewer eyes on something you're working on, but still allowing it to be placed into the vast open internet. it's nice just to let things out there
i also wanted something minimalist like this but with enough functionality, so kudos to the team. i genuinely hope to see leaflet develop into something greater
